Hello!

It has been several months since I last posted, my apologies. I hope you all had a great Holiday and are ready for the new year. Yes, 2016 was very sad with the loss of a number of Talents. However, for me 2016 brought great news!

My debut is finally available from Dark Oak Press and Media as of November 2016:

Judicious June 2016

The big news is Brexit.

Ok, so Britian showed the good sense to leave the EU. This is a bad thing how? The British Empire existed before the EU, as did the French Empire and the Russian Commonwealth. A 'world government' or 'world identity', frankly, scares me silly. Why? I have read some of the edicts of that world, and I definitely do not agree with it.

Hello again, tis me.

This month the Elders at the church I attend granted permission for me to try a Writer's Workshop. I wanted to try and give some back of what i had learned, and there are several budding authors there at present. We began on May 1, took a break because I went ot Atlanta to visit family, and then started up again on May 15. At present, I only have two people attending, but I get messages of more who are interested. I plan to continue it through June, and ...

Foolhardy April 2016

Okay, I have been thinking of how to word this without insulting anyone - and finally gave up.

Aside from the idiocy around the politics going on right now, there has been a lot of hooplah about bathrooms and who should use them. The masses are allowing themselves to be distracted again. Where the real issues are the encroaching illegal aliens, the violence brought by the unruly refugees, and the general collapse of the weak government to bullying antics of other countries. ...

Woot!

I was nominated for a https://darrellawards.wordpress.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Darrell Award for my short story, 'Sentry', in The Idolator's of Cthulu.  It was really wonderful to hear that! A friend of mine, Kathryn Sullivan , congratulated me on Facebook. I had not even heard yet! I went and checked on the site and there I was - wheeeee!

The only terrible part of it...

February Festivity 2016

Posted by Herika R Raymer on March 24, 2016 at 6:55 PM Comments comments (0)

Hello all.

Not much to say this month except Happy Valentine's and Happy Birthday to the February babies. I was able to drive to Georgia to visit with my nephews, to be there for a birthday party. Took my children, and they had a great time with their aunt and cousins.

Still writing. There have been a number of small blessings this year, and I am taking it as encouragement to finish some projects which have been on the back burner. Guess I just needed...

Caution January 2016

Begin transmission...

The last time I wrote here was May 2015, for that I am sorry. I am not a good blogger, I will admit. However, with what I have been watching happening in the last several months, something has to be said before FREE SPEECH is denied. I post happy things on Facebook because we need to see it with all the political clap-trap going on there. However, the severity of some current events needs to have commentary. For interviewers and hopeful jobs who are scr...

May Madness 2015

Okay, I am SO excited!

I learned that I have been INVITED as a Literary Guest to Liberty Con in June! If you do not understand my delight, please allow me to explain. Yes, I have been attending Cons for years, but I have always known just about everyone there and have usually been accompanied by H David Blalock - my father and a brilliant writer. He is the guest, and I am often the one who accompanies him. Yes, I am honored with guest status because of my writing, but the Co...

Awesome April 2015

Happy Birthday to my darling sister - may her celebration be memorable!

For myself, I have been careful not to get too involved in politics lately. I do not like what I am seeing, but my opinions are my own. If anyone wishes to talk to me about it, be prepared for honest debate, not a debacle of name-calling. But enough of that.

In the meantime, perhaps you would like to read about my shapeshifters versus werewolves?

Once again time for MidSouthCon!
