Herika R. Raymer is a Bookwright who wants to do each story right!

She grew up consuming books - first eating them and later reading them. Reading was better, but writing was fun! A writer of mixed genre - science-fiction, thriller, horror, fantasy (dark and/or rural), and even some humor (yes it can be dark) - her style leans towards thriller/horror. No gore, she explores either monster-based or psychological horror. No explicit sex, she claims such scenes make her blush. Still, her characters are passionate and engaging enough to win short story competitions/awards. Intrigued? Read on!

Born in 1974, Herika R. Raymer grew up among her father's collection of science fiction, reference volumes, and notebooks. They were the first victims of her appetite. Her parents taught her the value of focus and dedication while installing an appreciation of literature, art, and music. She wrote and doodled off and on for over 30 years. In 1994 when she published an unfinished bonus comic story in the Dragonrok chapter of Hanther's Tandra saga. Her written stories began to make appearances in anthologies years later, starting with 2009's Dragon's Composed from Kerlak Publishing. Since then, several anthologies feature her short stories (see Backlist). Encouraged, Mrs. Raymer compiled some of her earlier works into a collection, Make Mine With A Side Of Creepy, published in November 2016 by Dark Oak Press. She continues to write and in October 2021 started episodic stories on the new platform Kindle Vella.

Mrs. Raymer is also a freelance Editor. The journey began in as an Assistant and Lead Editor for a science fiction/fantasy and horror magazine respectively (October 2011 - April 2012). She is the Founder and Lead Editor of the discontinued ezine Imagyro Magazine (August 2010 - 2013), where she included Book and Movie Reviews.

Herika R. Raymer married in 1997, has two beautiful children, and lives in West Tennessee, USA.
